Bob Ross Party

Yesterday I went to a Bob Ross painting party with a bunch of cousins, and some aunts and an uncle.  It was fun!  We followed along with a Bob Ross video.  There were frequent pauses while we caught up to his painting.  Surprisingly, the results were great!  We all went home with a lovely little painting.  This may need to become a tradition.
Happy little snow-covered cabin with some happy little tree sandwiches:
We didn't have oil paints, so we used cheap acrylics.  We also didn't have great brushes, but we made it work!
Grandpa has done many a great painting in his day.  We took our works to Grandpa and Grandma's for some critiques.

  1. You guys are so nerdy (which you know I love) yet so amazingly talented at the same time. We kind of can't believe you all. David especially loved the patriarchal assessment at the end :).

  2. OMG I am in love with this and totally want to have a Bob Ross Party! One question, are you all artists? I'm pretty sure my painting wouldn't come out as nice as all of yours!
I would totally come to your Bob Ross Party! :)

    1. I think you would be surprised at how well you would do! Bob is a good teacher and with enough pausing of the dvd to stay caught up, it just all comes together. Some of us had never really done any painting at all!

    2. alright I am one step closer to my own Bob Ross party, just ordered a dvd! How long was your party? My friend and I are wondering how long it took to paint all those great paintings?

    3. It took one and a half to two hours, I'd say. I'm excited for your party! I hope it is fun! You totally don't have to use all of the fancy brushes he uses, and I recommend using cheap acrylic paints because they are way cheaper than oil paints. We just kind of tried to get close to the colors he used. Each painting is different in that way, as you can see.

  3. I can't remember all the brushes he used, I can only remember the fan brush and his brush cleaning method! :) All I know is I want to make "happy little trees". I am getting super pumped, my dvd should be arriving by the end of the week!
